Recount Writing - At Omanaia

On Saturday I went to Kong King in Omanaia. I went with my mum and my brother and my sister, Nana and Papa. First we packed the car, we packed our lunch and we packed our togs and we put them in the car. Finally we went to Kong King. We were so excited to see the big mullet. They are a kind of fish. We were so happy that we couldn't wait to hop in the water. We hopped in the water and it was so cold. I dived under the water to get warmer. I said to my brother. “Do you want to have a challenge? Who can hold their breath the longest under the water.” He said, “Yes.”

So we timed how long we could hold our breath under the water the longest. I timed us using a waterproof watch. I timed it for 20 seconds. We went under the water and held our breath. I came up at 17 seconds and Ama came up at 14. So I asked him, “Do you want to go again?” He said, “Yes.” So I timed it again for another 20 seconds. We had a deep breath and went under. I was holding my breath so hard. Ama came up at 20 and I came up at 23. I saw a bank that we could jump off. I asked my papa if we could jump off the bank. He said yes so we climbed up and did a manu back into the water. Next we went out of the water and had a feed. We saw mullet. The mullet were massive. We jumped back in the water and tried to catch the fish. I just caught a fish so i just jumped on one. Next they all went away so I went back onto the bank. I felt so happy.

What does kindness mean to me

My holiday

Josiah On Monday I went to an Auckland motel with my mum and my brother Callien and my sister Thelma. We went to Butterfly Creek. At Butterfly Creek we saw a big crocodile station. In the crocodile station there were 6 crocodiles. They were as big as normal crocodiles. Next we looked at the beautiful butterflies. I was so excited when we saw the butterflies. A blue butterfly flew on my brother's shoulder. I asked him, ¨Do you like butterflies?¨ He said, ¨Kind of. I said, ¨I like butterflies too.¨ After that we left. When we got back to the motel, I was so excited because my mum said to me and my brother we can go to the pools soon. 20 minutes later we went to my favourite Auckland pools. When we got there I was so surprised because there were deep pools and small pools. There was a slide that you only could go on if you were older than 5 years old. I could go on the slide because I'm 8. My brother could go on the slide because he is 6. We went on the slide together so we went down the slide. When we got out off the slide we jumped in the shallow pool. We kept on jumping in the deep pools and the shallow pools. When we got back to the motel we went to sleep. I was so happy because I was jumping in the pools with my best brother.
